While MSE walls are conventionally employed in fill situations, EarthTec also offers cost effective options for walls located in cuttings. Inherently massive, stable and free-draining, MSE walls lend themselves to supporting poor quality retained soils and low strength clays, often with greater ease of construction and lower cost than conventional cut wall options. Where right of way considerations won’t allow sufficient width of excavation for soil reinforcements, EarthTec employ soil nailing, tie-backs or post and panel walls faced that all adopt the same facing as EarthTrac™ MSE systems. A recently completed project details how an EarthTrac™ system provided a value engineering solution to a cut wall problem.
So EarthTec can employ several earth retention techniques on a single project, even on a single structure, while maintaining a consistent aesthetic theme. EarthTec’s hybrid structures produce aesthetically and economical solutions to tough right of way challenges. |
